Many gambling chats and news groups devoted to poker more and more frequently anxiously mention the so-called card-playing robots, known as “bots” in the nomenclature of the Web, that are being used on commercial gambling sites. Many players are sure that a number of gambling portals prospers due to the use of the special programs, able to beat an above-average player, not mentioning a beginner. In a traditional casino you can always guess the weak sides of your competitor, figure out his strategy and etc, in a virtual gaming house there is no telling your competitor is a human, but not specially created program, “substituted” for a real player.

If it is true, then widespread of poker bots capable of beating an average player would pose a significant problem for poker sector. Without creation of a special system verifying the identity and “humanity” of cards players in on-line casinos, the business could be significantly undercut. This is an opinion of players themselves, and gambling figures, interested in further development of on-line game industry.

Some skeptics say that, considering the complexity of the game and constantly changing strategies, creation of the program that can read opponentsí cards using special techniques of screen scanning and respond in real time is many decades away at best. The supporters of this point of view point to the variety of commercial programs that purport to help players, but with no actual effect. However there is a ready answer for all of these objections – in Canadian University of Alberta a computer poker research group has developed an artificially intelligent automaton known as “Vex Bot”. This robot is capable of playing poker at master level in a game with two players. The new system has already been used to test the frontiers of artificial intelligence, as it will be the basis for commercial poker tutorial program. As soon as the news about robot creation was published in media, the creators began to receive letters mentioning the danger of system use for the purposes of illegal gambling business.

Darse Billings who is lead designer of “Vex Bot” considers that probability of the use of bots on commercial sites is approximately 50:50, but he is also sure that all of the modern programs can unlikely match his creation, which is a result of a 10 years research work of a team of specialists.

Up to this point we’ve talked about Caribbean Stud Poker’s layout basics, typical hand play and some other entry-level information. Today, we’ll continue the discussion by venturing into payouts. After all, that’s the best part, right? We’ll start with Caribbean Stud Poker hand payouts and finish with a segment about progressive payouts. Let’s get started.

As you know from our previous segment, the dealer must qualify for you to be paid on your raise wagers. Antes are always paid even money. Here’s a handy listing of what raise wagers are paid when the dealer’s hand rank is an Ace-King or better.

One Pair: paid even money. Ex: $10 is paid $10.
Two Pair: paid 2x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $20.
Three of a Kind: paid 3x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $30.
Straight: paid 4x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $40.
Flush: paid 5x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $50.
Full House: paid 7x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $70.
Four of a Kind: paid 20x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $200.
Straight Flush: paid 50x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $500.
Royal Flush: paid 100x your raise. Ex: $10 is paid $1,000.

Here’s an important note. These payouts are not globally applied. Each casino may have different payouts. For instance, I once saw an online casino that paid 200x on the Royal Flush and 6x on a Full House. Shop around. That’s vital for the progressives.

The real money in Caribbean Stud Poker is won via the progressives. These payouts vary from casino to casino, so shop around to find the best deal. Some will pay less on a Royal Flush, but a lot more on a Four of a Kind. Also keep in mind that these payouts are always made regardless of the dealer’s hand. It’s $1 per hand to get locked into the progressives.

Here’s an example setup for a Caribbean Stud Poker progressive:

Flush: Payout of $50 – $100.
Full House: Payout of $75 – $250.
Four of a Kind: Payout of $100 – $500 (see, shop around).
Straight Flush: 10% of the current progressive jackpot amount. Ex: progressive is $50,000 so the payout would be $5,000.
Royal Flush: The big boy. It pays the whole progressive.

If you read any decent book on casino gambling, it will probably tell you that the progressive is a bad wager. But, they obviously haven’t been sitting at a Caribbean Stud Table and received a Four of a Kind only to see the dealer not qualify. To me, it’s a small price to pay for insurance.

This article is strictly referring to online poker games. It has nothing to do with reading the players. You can read here about some moments in the game when it is likely for others to bluff.

1. When they are still betting after a bad flop

Watch other player. Letís say they already did bet pre-flop and their position was not that good. Now the flop is on the table and it is poor, so you have to think they could be bluffing. So raising the bet, or re-raising it might make them think about it, because they probably stand zero chances with the drawings and they might fold.

2. The odds are with them

For example, when everyone folds. And especially when the pot is quite big, like a drawing missed and maybe even you are thinking of bluffing. Then, you should naturally think that they could also be bluffing. So call or raise, whatever you want, just donít throw away such a big pot.

3. When thereís only the two of you.

Itís considered the easiest bluff. They will think that if they got that far, they might as well get on with it. But donít be fooled and if you have a good hand go on and play it.

4. When the flop has no more draws.

From time to time players will bet here to get rid of the capability to obtain a draw, now and again since they really have got good cards. They can bluff or not, you must know the ones you are playing with.

5. When they bet and then checked.

When a draw just occurred, and it was not satisfactory, they are almost certainly just trying to go on without having much. Bet alongside them.

6. When they bet firstly, then for the second time and finally on the river they checked.

It is the same situation just with two bets instead of one.

7. If when betting they are expressing their pity for your money

They are just trying to intimidate you. Nobody wants to win less at poker. If they really had a hand, they would have let you go along so they could win more.

I love playing Blackjack online, but nothing compares to playing at a real casino when the atmosphere is just right. It’s a feeling that’s hard to capture at home-although you can do things to get close. When you play solo online, it’s all you. There are no other players taking cards. This can be a great joy or major source of pain offline.

Heck, when you play online, you can hit with 16 and the dealer showing a 6. No one cares, but you. When you step to the big boy tables in Vegas, you need to be more thoughtful-otherwise the table will hate you.

If you’re about to sit at a real table for the first time, here’s a great tip-sit in the middle. The spots immediately to the left and right of the dealer have a little pressure attached to them. First base (seat that gets the first card) is a crappy position as far as I’m concerned. And third base (seat that acts last, before the dealer) should only be occupied by someone who knows how to play. This seat is coveted by Blackjack players the world over.

Think I’m making it up? In Las Vegas, I’ve seen entire tables (yes, every single player but one) get up and locate to other tables, because some knucklehead made an incredibly bad move at third base. It happens, just don’t let it happen to you. That’s the worst feeling I’m sure. I’d recommend following this special tip. If you don’t know what play is the right one, ask other players. Some will say they don’t care (that’s crap, they do). Others will offer advice.

As a personal rule of thumb, if someone is at the table with say 10-20x my wager, I’ll ask for their opinion. Sometimes I’ve even cut deals for the big bettor on the hand (buying my hand basically). It’s not just about you. It’s an energy if you will. Try to keep harmony when you can.

Another big advantage of playing at a real table is seeing the cards in play. Online Blackjack tends reshuffle all decks used after each hand. When you play in the real world, strategy like counting cards comes into play. However, online blackjack nullifies this strategy (that’s why they reshuffle after each hand).

For a game where most players rarely consider luck, there are lots of superstitions in poker. When you mention that someone was lucky in that poker tournament they won, be careful of how you say it. For instance, if you mention that you were unlucky, your luck may never change.

Ok, that may sound a bit ubsurd, but poker is a game loaded with superstitions. Did you know that if you are playing a game with two seperate decks and you are asked to pick the deck, you should always pick the deck of cards that is furthest from you? Or, how about If you get a run of bad cards, you must sit on a hankerchief to break your bad luck? It’s actually considered good luck to blow through a deck of cards while they are being shuffled.

Some other fascinating poker superstitions are:

You can change the run of cards by walking around your chair three times.

The luckiest seat at the poker table faces the door.

The unluckiest seat has it’s back to a fireplace.

When changing seats, you should always do so clockwise.

The unluckiest poker card is the four of clubs.

It’s very unlucky to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.

Friday is a bad day for playing cards.

The 13th is also a bad day, regardless of what day of the week it is.

The gambling world is full of people who just throw down hard earned money without thinking about what they are doing. Are you one of those people who will just go with the flow? If so, you are most likely a losing gambler or you are not winning as much money as you could be. There are three main factors that make up every successful gambler: money management, value and knowledge. This article will take a look at all these of these areas and help you become a sharp gambler.

Money Management

Itís amazing how many people gamble and donít think, for even one second, about money management. You wouldnít go on a trip without thinking about what you want to do right? Then why gamble without a goal? When you go on a trip, is your goal to simply go on a trip? Of course itís not. You at least decide on a destination, time of stay and so forth.

Before you gamble, you should have some goals in mind. Hereís a quick list of a couple goals you want to define.

1.What is your total bankroll for the gambling session?
2.If I am ahead $X, I will leave.
3.If I lose X% of my bankroll, I will leave or I will leave once my bankroll is gone.
4.I will devote most of my time to playing [ insert game ].
5.While playing [ insert game ], my average bet will be around $x.

Defining these five goals will help you keep organized and focused.

Value

The sharp gambler stay way from bets that are for suckers. He or she is only concerned with getting good value. Hereís a list of key bets and activities to stay away from.

1.Slot Machines ñ The payback percentage is poor.
2.Roulette ñ Huge house advantage.
3.Proposition bets in Craps.
4.Parlay cards in sports betting that contain a large amount of selections.
5.The insurance bet in Blackjack.
6.The tie bet in Baccarat.
7.Caribbean Stud Poker, which has a large house advantage.
8.Bingo

Thereís no law against playing the above items from time to time, but you have to do it in moderation and not make these items part of your main betting activities.

Blackjack baby! I love this game. Most players I’ve come across are only familiar with the general variety played. But, that’s not all there is. Blackjack is a diverse game with a rich history. As such, they are different variations of the game-even if subtle ones.

Before playing any game of Blackjack (or any casino game) it’s important to know the rules and the payouts. Nothing could be worse than having a huge bet out there and being told that you can’t do something, like split Aces and hit. That’s the pits. Know the game before you play. Ask if you must. Online Blackjack is easier, because all the rules are usually just a click away. And the rules are vital if you plan on playing some sort of system. Not all systems are universal.

One variation of Blackjack is European Blackjack. It’s played with two decks. Unlike some places on the Las Vegas Strip (unless they offer this variation), the dealer must stand on a soft 17. Oh, and here’s a big difference. You can only double down on 9 and 11. That’s right. So, if you have an Ace and an 8 with the dealer showing a 6, you can’t double.

For most people, this limitation is no big deal. But, it can be tough to swallow for the more aggressive player. Another aggressive player killer is the fact that you can’t double down after a split no matter what. In this version of Blackjack, the house has a 0.39% advantage.

Moving on, we come to Atlantic City Blackjack. This version of Blackjack is always played with eight decks via a shoe. As with Euro Blackjack, the dealer must stand on soft 17. And that’s how Downtown Las Vegas plays it too. Splitting is allowed, but only up to three hands. And you can double on the first two cards after splitting too.

Another interesting option is late surrender, which is allowed in the Atlantic City version. The house advantage is slightly lower at 0.35%.

And that brings us to Double Exposure Blackjack, which is a crowd favorite-at least at first. You can see both dealer cards. Easy win right? Not so fast. The dealer wins all ties. Yep, no pushes, you just lose. It’s the price to pay for knowing what the dealer has.

Another feature that I don’t personally like is Blackjack payouts only paying even money. There’s no bonus at all, which kind of ruins the game for me. The game is played with a shoe that holds 8 decks and the dealer hits on soft 17.

Even though the dealer shows both cards, the house advantage nearly doubles the previous two versions we talked about. It’s 0.69%.

Fortunately, finding good bingo websites are much easier than buying a car.

All potential players have to do is type a keyword in a search engine and hit enter. Thousands of search results will appear on their computer screens. Now players have the daunting task to pick a bingo website from thousands of bingo websites.

The first step would be to choose between free bingo websites and pay-to-play bingo websites. As with buying a new car, the best is to first try out the free websites. This way players get a feel and understanding for the game. Some pay-to-play sites have similar free sites where players can ìtest-driveî the site before depositing at the pay website.

Many pay-to-play bingo websites give players free or bonus money when they sign up. By using their sign-up bonuses, players have the opportunity to see if they like the roomís atmosphere, the other players and the game itself.

Most pay-to-play bingo websites offer players a main room and a high rollerís room. The high rollerís room is for players who want to play for higher stakes.

Some seasoned online bingo players suggest that potential players should make a list of all the bingo websites they liked. This way they can go back and have a second look and take their time to decide at which websites they want to play.

Potential players can also search internet for reviews on the bingo websites theyíre interested in. Usually these websites give unbiased and honest reviews, mostly written by experienced bingo players. Another good way to find out more about certain sites is to visit message boards regularly.

The right bingo website will provide players with lots of fun, friends and prizes! Most bingo players love the community feel of some websites, the friendly players, chat rooms and of course all the prizes they can win! Some sites have themed rooms where people can choose a room to suit their taste or mood.

And of course, the greatest things about bingo websites are that you can play whenever and for as long as you want, from the comfort of your own home. Another advantage of playing online bingo is the opportunity to meet lots of people from other countries and backgrounds. And saving the best for last ñ you can spend lots of time having fun with your online friends and winning money!
