Archeologists were the first ones to find evidence of gambling behaviors in actual cavemen when they recovered dice-like objects that dated back over 41000 years ago that were made up animal bones. They also found cave paintings that depicted our ancestors performing gambling like behaviors. They even found pairs of dice that dated back to the Roman Empire. In fact during a period in Roman times it was required for parents to have their kids learn how to gamble. If this law were passed during modern times parents would be at an uproar over it, so in this aspect The roman empire was very liberal. In fact it was purported that ancient Roman soldiers actually gambled for the robes of Jesus.
Evidence of gambling was even found over 4000 years ago in the chinese culture. Their game of chance was developed by using actual riles. The ancient Greeks were the most perplexing when it came to their gambling behaviors. Although Greek soldiers loved to gamble with dice games, Greek society for some reason made gambling illegal. For a very liberal society as the Greeks this behavior always puzzled me.
As far as American gambling history the first gambling establishments back in early American times were called saloons. These saloons were not only important as hot gambling spots but they were a great place where weary travelers coming from all over the country could meet and make friends. In essence these saloons had started to become social areas where people could make long lasting bonds and associations for life. During the early part of the 20th century the American government for some reason felt that gambling should be banned so they made it so by passing a series of laws. In 1931 however, the government decided to make a compromise on this by making gambling legal in 2 states: Nevada and New Jersey. This is how these 2 states became famous gambling hubs with Atlantic City and Las Vegas leading the way.

As more and more people play online poker, all sorts of complaints started to come up through the surface. Most players claim to observe several instances of “bad beats.” bad beats are usually large hands that are pitted against the others very often that at its going rate it would seem that it is more common when people play online poker than when playing brick & mortar (traditional) poker.
This claim can be justified since it is very evident if one was to play online poker that online card sites deal more hands per hour than traditional poker. So people who play online poker usually see more hands. The rate of people who play online poker that see more of those not probable bad beats or sometimes randomly large deals is increased.

– One Incident Against Online Poker

One site, ProPoker.Com, however, was found to utilize “bots” or software emulated human opponents to play but with the possible knowledge of the cards of the players and the cards are not yet dealt.

It was then forced to shut down, with most of the people who play online poker at the site surprised at losing every penny they bet on the site.

Since then, several bodies giving out certifications such as Kahnawake Gaming Commission, and also big auditing firms like Pricewaterhouse Coopers have been reviewing online poker sites and soliciting reviews from people who play online poker to improve their standards for certifications.
These commissions review the shuffle and payouts for some sites for its fairness.

– Differences Between Online And Traditional Poker

** No Psychological Playing

People who play online poker have identified distinguishable characteristics between the online and traditional poker gaming.

One major difference that people who play online poker have identified is visibility. People who play online poker have observed the obvious, people who play online poker does not face each other before a table. They do not sit across each other.

The most important aspect for people who play online poker is diminished. No psychological aspect is available. Each person who play online poker no longer observe other people’s reaction or body language.

This can be seen as an advantage by some people who play online poker. It is seen instead as a way where people who play online poker can focus more seriously on patterns of betting. Aside from the patterns of betting, people who play online poker usually observe the reaction time and other behavior that usually are not physical in nature.

It is accepted by most people who play online poker that it is a game that usually demands at most adaptability from the players. In fact, successful people who play online poker can readily learn to improve their mastery of the new territories of their poker game.

** Increased Rate of Play

Another difference observed by people who play online poker is the rate of poker play. In the traditional casinos, the card dealer needs to collect the poker cards, the dealer will then shuffle the cards and deal the cards after each hand.

Due to the usual slow methodology of dealing poker games in traditional casinos, the average rate of card play of people who play online poker is only around thirty hands for each hour.

People who play online poker, however, attest to the fast pace of card play. They usually do not experience these delays in shuffle and dealing. The shuffling and dealing are all instantly done.

John Lynch announced the formation of a fifteen member Commission to examine exactly how gambling expansion would take place if lawmakers ever approved the measure.

Also John Lynch said: “These are important questions that must be addressed in a careful and thoughtful way to help inform the public debate about expanded gaming in New Hampshire,”.

The executive order is the second one regarding gambling in the past week.

The state Senate have already passed a Bill that would have brought slot machines to New Hampshire racetracks.

The House has been unwilling to include the expanded gambling in the new state budget.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Pennsylvania has the chance to get an additional 165 million dollars annually in the gaming revenue if table games were in operation at all twelve of the state’s casinos. It was officialy announced by a person who was hired by 3 casinos.

The chief executive office of The Innovation Group, Steve Rittvo affirmed that the revenue could be around 104 million dollars, money generated by poker, roulette, blackjack and dice. But the most of revenues are coming from the slots machines‘ side bringing no more and no less than 60 million dollars.

He even added that table games‘ presence could attract gamblers plus adittional slots machines players.

Mr. Rittvo was supposed to have a 12 percent state tax from the annual table games revenue. Compared with the percentage tax rate which contains House Bill 21, its 12 percent is lower than the House Bill which contains 21 percent.

Recently, Mr. Rittvo has been hired by 3 casinos in Pennsylvania. These casinos are the Mohegan Sun, Philadelphia Park, and the Sands Bethworks casino from Bethlehem which has been recently opened.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the Illinois Senate rejected gambling expansion as the week ended that would have put casinos in Park City, Rockford and Chicago, reports the Chicago Tribune.

The expansion would have also allowed slot machines at Illinois racetracks.

But the vote was 28 for and 28 against, and because approval requires 30 votes in the 59 seat Senate it did not pass.

Link said the added gambling would generate nearly $100 million in the first year for the state and $500 million annually once established.

State Senator Kirk Dillard said the expanded gambling proposal would have made Illinois a bigger gambling state than Nevada or New Jersey.
